Rojie asks:

Do dust bunnies count as pets

I had a dog for a little while when I was a kid. It was a long time ago. He was a black dog with white feet and if youre thinking, I bet his name was Boots, then youd be correct. Boots required a certain amount of work and I was lazy and didnt want to do any of that work so my parents took care of the feeding and the cleaning and the walking and as a result Boots didnt care too much for me. Eventually they both got tired of taking care of Boots so they gave him away. I was in the basement on the day the guy came to get Boots and Boots was with me so he must have liked me a little bit. I wrote about Boots before and looking back I thought maybe he knew he was going away because he peed on the tiled floor in the basement. I got called upstairs and the two of us went up there and the guy was in the living room and he picked up Boots and out the door they went. I dont remember being overwhelmingly sad or anything and I thought about the pee in the basement. I dont know who the guy was, just someone my dad knew and supposedly he had a lot of kids. I dont recall anyone ever telling me, Boots is going to live on the farm now or anything like that so Im guessing Boots lived happily ever after. Oh yeah, about the question: I think Boots would probably say, Who is this kid and why is he taking up so much of my mommy and daddys time I wish hed go away.

In my first (or second) apartment I had a goldfish. The goldfish didnt have an official name, just a nickname of Goldy. Yeah, I know yawn. What my goldfish would say about me is, Oh, here comes this big thing who changes my stinky water and feeds me good food and I love him so much which is why I always dance and wiggle for him. Then one day I came home from work and Goldy wasnt dancing, he was just floating on top of the water. I wrapped him in a paper towel shroud and took him to a nearby lake and used a stick to dig a shallow hole and buried him. He was probably dug up and eaten before I got home.

I had a parakeet for about 20 hours so I dont think that counts as a pet worth talking about. If it had anything to say about me, it might have been, Get me the fuck out of here! I wouldnt have disagreed.

Any future pets for me Dogs arent allowed where I live and Im a little bit leery of cats. I wouldnt want to ever declaw a cat and Ive seen pictures and stuff of what what a cat can do to a person with those claws and those teeth. I think if a cat understood human anatomy they could kill a human in two seconds without leaving their comfy spot in the sun. Then I read that you really should have two cats so the one cat doesnt get bored. But then you have to do all this introducing stuff and scent swapping stuff and monitor play to make sure its not aggressive (and break it up wearing gloves if it is) or territorial and Im not sure I have the patience for that. And then two cats would, or so Ive read, mean three little boxes and where do those go Probably the biggest reason is I dont want to take on the cost of keeping a cat. But who knows what the future holds and Ill see where AI takes household pets. I know the looks pretty interesting. They remind me of Tribbles.

Suing for Pet Injury in New Hampshire: What the Law Actually Allows

When another person's dog attacks your cat, a negligent driver strikes your dog, or a boarding facility's carelessness leaves your pet seriously hurt, your first instinct is to hold someone accountable. New Hampshire law gives you a real path to do that but the rules are more nuanced than most pet owners expect. The state's approach blends a strong strict-liability statute with traditional common-law negligence principles, and the way courts value animals shapes every dollar you can
