Trucks and cars were racing over him while he huddled in his shell right between the wheels. Today, he is safely housed in a legitimate sanctuary. These turtles have been illegal to own in recent years they escaped or some people released them into the wild, where they are not native and cause significant damage.12 1 LIMO
