Welcome to my new interview series. I am the official human spokesperson for the Guardian Monster Guild, editor of the "Monster Times & Review" and author of the glamorous tell-all book, "What Monsters Want". These are hard-won credentials that I have worked tirelessly to obtain. As an ordinary human being, entering the realm of Monsterdom requires a rigorous determination, and an ego that can survive all manner of taunts, threats and indignation. I have endured countless nips, pokes and licks from numerous monsters whose intent, it seems, was to provoke me into giving up. I have proved them wrong! NOTE: This latest set of interviews on monster pets is for human eyes only and includes interviews with a select group from the Gorgeous Monsters Society. (This is the name they give themselves.) Here we discuss their feelings of unabashed adoration for their beloved pets as well as their care and feeding.

SPECIAL NOTE: This interview was not a typical one. I was instructed to watch quietly from within a closet, so as not to disturb the pets meditative state. After observing the solitary creature for about an hour during playtime, I spoke off camera with it's owner, a Mrs. Nitig. Her husband was nowhere to be found and I was told that he was out hunting for their dinner.

We loved her with all our heart. She was sick when we got her nearly a year ago and just a baby. My husband was in the pet store getting cat litter and saw how they keep the bettas in those awful small jars. She looked like she was dying, so he brough her home to die with dignity. I said, Maybe shell be okay I had him go out and get her a 10 gallon tank. We made it comfortable, got her the right food, did everything we could. Fasted her once a week, and once a week she got daphnia. She turned into an excitable little cutie and was thriving. Her vibrant colors came out. She was a crown tail betta. She loved the connection. Id sing to her, talk to her. She put her face against the front of the tank, always trying to get close to me. She was my friend. She was our little girl, our baby. We did everything we could to save her. She had her bouncy moments, then she took a turn for the worse. She will be so missed. Our hearts are broken.

Our Elwood Blues turned 10 today and it was cause for celebration and even more spoiling than the typical day. Elwood (and Jake) were gifted plenty of new toys to add to their collection, double cheeseburger bones, donut cookies, and a big birthday cookie complete with sprinkles. He is just the very best boy. We know he doesnt understand his birthday, just that he is getting more treats and new toys than the average day.
