Jinx hid from me all day, and when I went in the room for the last time, it was dark - the light bulb had burned out. So this human had to find the blackout light and make lots of noise to get a fresh bulb in place. The wet food was eaten, so that told me wherever Jinx had been hiding, he wasnt stuck. I found him in his original hiding spot on the books and took him out for some pets. Youll want your audio on.
After, I showed him how some toys work. Hes curious but very wary. An excellent second night.
Crime against wildlife is surging in Australia
Flogging off native animals and plants
" Around the world, wildlife and environmental crime is surging. It is estimated to be the fourth largest organised transnational crime sector, and to be growing at a rate two to three times faster than the global economy."
"This is a considerable problem, because Australia has unique and endemic wildlife species, high extinction rates, and is a country that is difficult to police due to its sheer size and vast remote areas. Our new, Australia-first study addresses this knowledge gap."
"We dont understand the full extent and impact of these crimes in Australia, but we do know they can be disastrous. Wildlife trafficking and illegal trade erodes biodiversity through the removal of native species from their habitats. It also fuels the spread of invasive species, parasites and diseases."
"Over half of the environmental crimes (61.3%) occurred in outer regional and remote areas of Australia. "

Pax is sleeping cozily on her grey and white blankets. I'm thankful she doesn't have to spend this cold, snowy night outside.
We wish you a good night, or a good day. We hope the week ahead goes well for you and yours. Stay safe.

Lily is so cute I think I will post this in the ferret fix category on my personal journal website (). When I exited FB, people were asking how theyd get their ferret-inspired dopamine boosts. I created that category as a solution.

Yes, he sleeps with his teefies out!
is being a big snuggle bug this morning while my wife and kids video chat with my mother in law. Not a bad way to spend the 3 month anniversary of us getting him.
Our tabby cat, named Sunday, is keeping warm by snuggling close to her CatDad's leg on a footrest. She prefers to stay upstairs, but occasionally she graces us with her presence down here. She's the queen and Pax always tries to avoid her.
