This evening we found Chester had developed a small hock sore. We cleaned it, put on some antibiotic ointment, wrapped it with bandage and taped a tiny sock over his poor foot. We'll call the vet first thing in the morning, but he seems to be calm and he's eating hay like a happy bunny so we aren't too worried about him over night.
Hoping it's just an isolated situation and not something more concerning. He's getting up there in bunny years.
