Dear friends of the fediverse,
until I was able to decide to participate in social media life in September last year (and it was clear that it could only be the fediverse), I thought it was not only a clich but even a rumor, I mean the thing with the cat pics.. whereby I see the cat as a symbolic representative for all pets.
In fact the cat predominates.
And indeed, after a good half a year, I realize that on the media platform with probably the most above-average adults with quite a high level of scientific, technical, artistic, cultural and social expertise, exactly this clich comes true.
Whether infosec people, NASA nerds, physicists, musicians, mathematicians, engineers, artists, opera singers or even COBOL programmers and porn performers all post, boost, favorite and bookmark cat pics, dog videos, horse gifs and so on.
I myself don't have any pets, because I'm on the road too much for that, both professionally and privately, and I'm now really grateful for the photos of your critters, I look at them and feel kinda .. innocent, careless and without suspicion towards my fellow human beings, because one thing is clear: purely statistically, every fifth of you could be just as much a pervert as I am, or judging by the last elections, every fourth could be a Nazi or otherwise an exclusive human being
.. purely statistical..
But here in the Fediverse I honestly haven't met a Nazi yet, well ok you can see photos of Putin, Trump, Musk, Netanyahu and other extremists, but luckily there are always well-founded scientific, political and creative contributions and above all..... Cat pics.
I would like to say thank you for your great contributions and that you always show the pranks of your pets, or how they sleep or eat. Thanks to the whole animals and the plants, it feels even more human here, so I say more of it, move out your pets and potted flowers and garden plants!

Im convinced: consistent wake-up times are more necessary than the amount of hours slept for my best health (so far)
Its a tricky line, because we DO need good sleep and plenty of it to do our best the next day, but a wishy-washy wake up can throw off a schedule just as badly.
Today, it's really paying off that we had arranged a monthly visit by Garfield the ginger foster we re-homed with an elderly lady.
Picked him up to stay with us while his human is dealing with an emergency, and ours just went "oh, hi, want to play".
