Can you tell Ive had a lot of time on my hands recently Two essays in two weeks! Unheard of. This one is about moving in with my girlfriend and, more specifically, her two cats. Growing up in the countryside, my family kept outdoor cats as ratters, but Id never shared my living space with animals before. The first months were predictably conflict-ridden as I struggled to co-exist with these little non-humans and their strange modes of being. Eventually, though, I learned, and I believe they learned too. Whats more, our relationship deepened and blossomed, and ended up taking me on a journey of discovery of them, of the wider world, and of myself.
