New research from South Korea suggests that interacting with dogs can affect brain activity to make people feel relaxed and improve concentration. For the study, 30 participants met, played with, fed, massaged, groomed, photographed, hugged and walked a four-year-old poodle named Aro, as changes in their brainwaves were measured. Who's hungry Pangolin is letting me know she's ready for her second course. She always has to eat her meals in 2 parts, and so she has to let me know when it's time for the next. She's very polite. She is the chattiest of our 3, but quietly understated in her manner.

Approximately 40 per cent of Australian households have a dog, equating to about 5.1 million dogs. Children under five years continue to be at higher risk of injuries to the head and neck than any other age group."
Art for today. Been on a social media fast of late, but popping in to say hi and share my most recent painting, of our sweet bunny, who fell ill last year and had to be put to sleep just before Christmas. He was about 8 years old. I painted his portrait for my daughter, who was particularly devastated by his death. This memorial to him helped a bit, I think.

Confirming the view of most pet owners I know (including myself) the Competition & Markets Authority has launched an investigation into overcharging for pet healthcare, including medicines.
As the sector is essentially a quasi oligopoly, it will be interesting to see if the CMA demands a break up

Emma was almost 13 years old when she was diagnosed with diabetes. As her owner, father, human, lover, whatever, I took care of her with a carefully timed meal routine instead of free-feeding, administered two insulin shots a day (she did not feel the needle but I did prick my finger several times), kept the water fountain filled against her unquenchable diabetic thirst, and the litter box emptied.
