So, we have started the treatment of my pet rat. As you may have seen, the tests alone (blood, faeces, auscultation etc.) cost 345 polish zloty. (thats a lot for me)
The affliction is the cancerous tumour on the mammary gland under the armpit. It is not painful, but even with successful treatment the paw may need to be amputated. Which sucks. There is also the possibility of metastasis and tumour coming back. In addition theres reduced body temperature, weight loss, possible nausea. The rat also needs medication, which they will prescribe at my next appointment. Kiara is currently still awaiting an ultrasound, rentgen and surgery.
Ok, the doctor told me that the anticipated cost of the whole procedure will be: 100zl spread over two visits, 300 zl to 600 zl for the procedure itself (depending on complications, medications given etc., anasthetics) and 250 zl for histopathology to determine if the cancer has metastasised or not. (thats above my monthly budget by itself) And then theres the medication needed after the surgery on your own. As you can see, thats basically American healthcare. So I really encourage you to support us. Please.
Unfortunately, an expense like this at a time when Im already impoverished is a blow below the belt. And I need to be able to afford the rent. The cost of 345 zl Ive spent on the initial trestment so far is the equivalent of 1/2 of my monthly budget after paying said rent. Due to stagnant wages, difficulty combining 12 hour job with day studies I just cant afford treatment and hence I need a helping hand.

So, I have a question.
We have a decent sized yard (0.8 acres) and we fenced it in because we have 2 large dogs you may have seen in other photos of mine (Roux and Snow, 70lbs and 90lbs respectively) as well as 2 indoor-outdoor cats who kill all the rodents in the area.
Unfortunately, a possum in the area seems to have a death wish. It keeps coming into our yard and getting the piss scared out of it by our dogs. We call them off because we don't want them getting sick killing it (one is a Great Pyrenees and the other is a hunting dog. Neither is likely to get hurt, just diseased from biting it.)
But it keeps coming back and coming deeper into the yard and further from the fence. And it is doing so earlier and earlier in the day. And each time, it gets scared to death and runs off after we get the dogs away.
But it keeps coming back and one of these days, we won't be home and our guys will kill it.
What should we do

Tilly has been very confused why I am staying in bed the last few days and spent a good bit of time today thoroughly investigating possible causes. She has methodically sniffed and batted at every blanket, pillow, suspect fuzzy, my computer, and *almost* everything else currently on the bed.
So far she has no theories on what it could be, but she is growing more and more annoyed at the blatant disrespect of me not moving the weird clunky thing on my leg out of her way as she searches.
